From Disconnection to Empowerment: A Case Study
She came to me during her pregnancy feeling completely out of her body, burdened by significant mental health concerns and relentless pelvic girdle and lower back pain. She had the strength and awareness to know that the mainstream medical system, while important, wasn't going to fully support her in her autonomy as a parent. She was searching for something more.
Our work together was not about fixing her, but about inviting her back into her body. Through gentle, intuitive movements and breathwork, we encouraged a less rigid approach to her pelvic health. We worked on connecting to her pelvic area and her core in a way she had never felt before, honouring her body's innate wisdom.
Over time, her pelvic and lower back pain began to subside, allowing her to find restful sleep again. But the real transformation was deeper. She went on to have a very quick, physiological labour and birth, a testament to her body's newfound confidence and a powerful expression of her autonomy.
After her baby was born, she had the confidence to move into my group pelvic program, actively participating in her postpartum recovery. She experienced an excellent recovery for her pelvic health, feeling empowered and at home in her body.

How Can Yoga Support Your Pelvic Health?
At its roots, yoga isn't about specific poses or pelvic floor exercises. Of course, having good range of motion through the pelvis is important, but it’s certainly not the only answer for true pelvic well-being.
Yoga means to unite. It’s a practice of cultivating a clear connection with your own Truth - the part of you that knows exactly what is in your best interest. It's the part of you that is independent and autonomous, ready to become your own advocate.

About your Facilitator
The turning point in my pelvic health journey wasn't a breakthrough exercise or a specific stretch. It was a doctor's suggestion to have a procedure that would cauterise the nerve endings around my SI joint.
At the time, I was just one year postpartum, an otherwise healthy person with so much more life left to live. That moment made me realise that the conventional approach was focused on silencing my body, not listening to it. I chose a different path - a path of trust, intuition, and self-governance.
My work as a pelvic health specialist is a direct result of that journey. It is my purpose to guide people back to their body's innate wisdom, empowering them to become their own first-responders and to find a sense of autonomy they may have lost. I am a Bowen Therapist, a yoga teacher with speciality trailing in pelvic health and a matrescence coach, but most importantly, I am someone who has walked this path and who is committed to helping you find your own unique answers.
