You’ve made the big decision: you’re having a homebirth!

Congratulations! Getting to this point is, in and of itself, is a huge milestone in your matrescence journey.

And the most exciting thing about it is that in choosing to homebirth, you are leaning into an autonomous birth experience: one where you call the shots.

Choosing autonomy can sound liberating, but it can also feel overwhelming…

  • There are going to be many, many more decisions to make along the way.

  • There’s a big difference between just letting the hospital team tell you what you should do and investing your time, energy and money in preparing yourself for your dream birth.

There is no better time than the present

If you’re in your first or second trimester, now is the ideal time to create your homebirth preparation plan… before the final stretch gets too busy and exhausting.

Homebirth planning can be overwhelming

Realistically, you’re probably already stretched for:

  • Time - whether it’s your children, your work, or a combination keeping you busy.

  • Energy - it’s nice to think about doing all this preparation, and you know it’s important, but if you’re honest, you’re so physically exhausted, just getting through the day is a struggle, let alone showing up to a class.

  • Money - you may be spending quite an amount on hiring your birth team, so you may be worrying about what is leftover for anything else required to prepare for birth.

Questions that might be overwhelming you:

  • How much do I need to learn about the birth process?

There are hundreds of antenatal or birth courses to choose from: which is the right fit? Will the course/s you choose actually tell you anything you can’t find on the internet or in a book?

  • Will I be able to trust my body?

What mindfulness practices should I be incorporating? Do I need regular bodywork or an exercise program to keep me in shape?

  • How will I manage the pain?

How can I learn tools and techniques to manage pain? Do I need to buy pain management devices or hire a doula to help me on the day?

  • What if I have to transfer to a hospital?

Will I be labelled by my friends and family as being irresponsible? How will I know if it’s the right time to make the call to transfer?

Asking these questions? I hear you

I certainly don’t plan to add to your overwhelm.

In fact, this webinar is all about simplifying your decisions so that you can feel assured and empowered on a clear pathway towards your homebirth.
